Most people believe that their dog, is special and for each of these people, they are. I have raised dogs my entire life and we used to breed Doberman's, also a very smart and determined breed. We currently also have a Border Collie who is as smart an animal as you can hope for and he is no match for Bullet, who is my second male Weimaraner. He is one of the smartest, most amazing, graceful and determined creatures I have ever known. He understands over 20 different commands and is a strong independent thinker. He is famous in the neighborhood that we live, in for his antics, While he has plenty of energy, #%$#@!!! he is as relaxed at home as he is intense in the field. His instincts are very strong and he is an independent thinker. He constantly challenges the horses to races and points naturally. While he tracks anything and once on a scent won't let go unless you shoot him, he is kind and normally leaves small animals alone. He basically does not bite, although he will exert himself when necessary. He was from a good line of dogs, many champions and could have been field trialed or shown, had we the inclinations to do so. With all of these qualities and a hundred things I cannot write here, beyond all of this, is a level of loyalty and commitment to me, that is beyond description. It is one of the most fulfilling things in my life. If his offspring are half the dog that he is, you will have a great animal.
